Economic Product
The students are coming up with a product to sell, a price to sell their product for, and a name for their company. Then, they will create a billboard (poster) for their product. After that, they will create a commercial. The commercials will be recorded and posted to the Blog. This project takes several weeks to complete so be on the look-out for updates and pics!!!!

Busch Stadium Field Trip - 2013
We had an awesome day!!!! We got to take a tour of Busch Stadium, which included the Radio Broadcast Booth, the Redbird Club, the Cardinal Clubhouse (by the locker rooms), the Cardinal's Dugout, and many more!!! We even got to walk in "The Bunker" into the dugout just like President Obama did.
Our first class - Sandlot Science
We learned about how the angle of a baseball bat can affect the direction the ball travels. The students watched different at bats by Holliday and made predictions on where the ball was going. Then, we tested our predictions using a "mini" bat & ball. After that, we watched the videos of Holliday again to see what really happened. We learned and practiced our Scientific Inquiry Skills! :)
Our second class - Bird's Eye View
We learned about Point of View, how the broadcaster allows you to see and hear what is happening in the game. We got to practice hearing an announcer make the call of Holliday's home run 4 different times, and we had to decide if the broadcaster was a Cardinal's broadcaster, or a visiting one. We had to listen to their tone & excitement to figure out their point of view. Then, we got to "make the call" for Carpenter's pitch to Nelson Cruz - Game 7 of The 2011 World Series. Soooo fun!
Our third class - Through the Years
We looked at baseball through the years - the stadiums, the equipment, the uniforms, the concessions, the fans, the tickets, and how much things cost... The students were able to see and touch the different equipment and uniforms from Sportsman's Park (1920-1966), Busch Stadium II (1966-2005), and Busch Stadium III (2005-present). This was very interesting!!!
What a FABULOUS field trip!!!!
